First Open Day at The Big Fish Shop Pakuranga

On Saturday December 12th we will be holding our first Open Day at The Big Fish Bait & Tackle Shop at 141a Cascades Road in Highland Park, Auckland.

We have set up a permanent display of a few of our kayaks and paddles. On most Saturday morning Kim will be at the shop to discuss Paddling Perfection kayaks and accessories and take bookings for demo paddles.

At the Open Day we will have a full range of demo kayaks on display:

SeaBear Waitoa (kevlar)
Euro-X (kevlar)
Breaksea (kevlar/carbon)
Adventurer & SPORT
S14 SOT/Ski

Plus we will have the Phoenix range of NZ manufactured family rotomolded kayaks:
Hawk
Fury
Hornet (fishing kayak)

And some examples of our paddles:
Millenium Arturus Sea Kayak paddle
Millenium Pleiades WP paddle
PP Tourer glass/carbon sea kayak paddle

There will be a range of Rob Fort kayak fishing accessories plus some spray skirts and PFDs from DayTwo.

A great rage of NZ manufactured kayaks and accessories.

Kayak fishing in the Coromandel 2015

Awesome time kayaking at Waikawau Bay on New Zealand’s stunning Coromandel Peninsular.

The SeaBear Waitoa is not only a fast touring kayak, suitable for weekend touring and longer expeditions, but also as a stable fishing platform.

Too many kayakers miss out on the opportunity to fish off their sea kayaks.  I have been successfully fishing off my SeaBear for some time, using both trolling lures and soft baiting.

A friend of mine successfully fishes off his SeaBear II double kayak.  A few weeks ago taking his friend out and catching a sizeable kingfish!

Don’t underestimate the enjoyment of kayak fishing, in between exploring the exciting coastline in your region.

    Packhorses in the Abel Tasman

Packhorses on duty in the Abel Tasman National Park

Our Paddling Perfection Packhorses have been the mainstay of many tour operators in the Abel Tasman Park since the beginning of guided tours in the Park. Most companies use the Packhorse for multi day trips and Classic tours – guided tours covering greater distances and requiring a good load carrying capacity.

The Packhorses are extremely stable, easy to adjust and carry every size and shape of paddler. These is simply no better excursion double sea kayak around!

When tourists recall their amazing holiday in the “Tas” they not only recall the great beauty of the region but also the thrill of paddling one of the legendary double kayaks of our industry.
